Who am I?

Hello, my name is Meghan Lessard. I always feel so weird talking about myself, like I’m really just an ordinary girl that likes to read books and cuddle with my doggo under a blanket at home. But since I am asking to tell your story, I feel like maybe I should tell you a bit about mine. So here it goes, a bit about me..

I was born and raised in Sacramento, CA but ventured my way up north to Yuba City once I graduated from college. My family is my everything! Like, I still talk on the phone with my mom everyday. I am one of the most outgoing introverts you will ever meet. People are always shocked when I tell them I am a major introvert because I'm so outgoing. I met my husband sophomore year in high school and we have been together ever since! I'm a sucker for a good love story. Let's see, I played softball at a college in Hawaii and was lucky enough to live on Oahu for three years. I am a special education teacher as well as a yoga instructor, so patience and goofing around are my specialties. Nature is my sanctuary, I love hiking and backpacking. Got a nature shoot in mind? I’m your girl!

I also always joke that I am either a not-so-serious person that tries to take everything seriously or a very serious person that can’t take anything seriously. Basically, one part of me is always laughing at the perfectionist in me, and in the end, I just end up laughing through life. Enough about me, I want to know more about you!

My philosophy?

Let me tell you a little about my philosophy with photography. I don’t love anything super posed, so what you see in my photos are real and raw moments. People in their element, just being themselves. I might give prompts or ideas, but I want your photoshoot to be more than a photoshoot, I want you to remember it as a time you laughed and giggled with your loved ones instead of that one time you posed awkwardly for some weird lady.

Here's the thing, so many people show up stressed to a photo session. I am one of those people too, I get it! That is NOT what I want to happen. Those pictures never look good and won't bring you that warm and fuzzy feeling that you can get every time you look at that special picture on the wall in your living room or open up that photo album. Instead, this should be a time for you to have fun, run around, and just enjoy some time together. If you're an introvert like me, and don't want someone in your face, I get it! I'll give you the space you need and ease you into the whole photo thing. If you want to have a dance party, splash in the water, bring all 5 of your dogs, go for it! I'll guide you along the way and we'll have a blast with photos to prove it.

My main goal is for you to feel comfortable and have fun while being photographed. Hopefully you might even forget your being photographed at all. The very best moments are the truly authentic ones. Let's capture your memories as they happened, candidly, beautifully & naturally.
